As a graphic designer by trade, it's always nice to have a chance to get out from behind the computer and create with my hands. Whether it's printmaking, pencil and paper illustrations, or working with a letterpress, I love the tactile nature of art produced by hand, especially in this increasingly digital and AI world. Exploring carving designs into layers of acrylic paint has opened a whole new world of creativity for me.

Leveraging my background in design and my love for traditional woodcuts, I hand-carve detailed images and designs into layers upon layers of acrylic paint. The topographical nature of the medium results in designs with rich textures and a depth that is captivating. I've had fun exploring how the different layers of color interact with each other and testing different carving styles to create new textures. My art is inspired by the textures, patterns, and colors found in nature.
